Fear of Death
Christ Frees from Fear
The original title of this devotional is “Getting Free from the Fear of Death.” I shortened it merely to make it fit better on the blog site. The point is that Jesus Christ, God’s Son, is “the radiance of the glory of God and the exact imprint of His nature.” He upholds the universe by the word of His power (Hebrews 1:3). Despite His exalted position, He made purification for sins and by His death He destroyed the devil and freed all those who were enslaved by the fear of death. This is the glorious message of the gospel. May the good news ring forth! In Jesus we are freed from the enslaving fear of death. Satan is defeated. Jesus is Lord and He reigns in heaven.
Since therefore the children share in flesh and blood, he himself likewise partook of the same things, that through death he might destroy the one who has the power of death, that is, the devil, and deliver all those who through fear of death were subject to lifelong slavery.
