Trusting God’s Timing
Today’s reading: 1 Samuel 25:1-27:12
My selection: I Samuel 26:10-11
My reflections: David’s loyalty to his enemy, Saul, was not based on any cowardice on David’s part. Rather he spared Saul’s life twice because he respected the position the Lord had put him in. David knew that the Lord could bring Saul down in a moment, or Saul might die of natural causes in old age or he could die in battle. There was no shortage of ways the Lord could use to get rid of Saul. David knew he had been anointed to replace Saul as king. He also knew that God’s will includes both a what and a when. Timing is important.
My challenge: In making important decisions do you consider not only WHAT God would have you do but also WHEN?
Wait on the Lord to bring the right time for His purposes for you. Do not rush ahead to try to make the good thing happen ahead of time.
